I understand how hard life can be when you are suffering from overwhelming feelings and how negatively this can affect your relationship with yourself and others. I understand because I have been there. I sat in your chair and therapy helped me feel better, cope and grow during a very difficult period in my life.
I clearly remember how difficult it was to open up for the first time about my struggles, and the relief I felt once the things I said were received with acceptance, empathy and understanding. My past personal experiences help me appreciate you and I consider it a great privilege to have the opportunity to work with you.
My path toward becoming a psychotherapist was not a traditional one. I worked for over a decade in the Hi-tech industry before switching careers to follow my life-long interest in psychology and psychotherapy. I also grew up in a bi-racial family and lived on three continents for various parts of my life which helped me develop a great appreciation for various cultures and sensitivity to cultural issues and nuances. So apart from my formal education and extensive clinical training, I bring to our work, a well-rounded set of real-life experiences which I believe will benefit you.
